About

I was born between two landscapes: the ocean on one side, the mountains on the other. Photography came as a way of connecting them — first a borrowed camera, then years of walks at dawn, and one day the realisation that looking had become my profession.

My landscape work belongs to a tradition I fully embrace: that of the pictorialists, for whom a photograph does not document a place but a sensation. I look for mist rather than bright sun, the blue hour rather than noon, slowness rather than spectacle. My series are built over years, and only leave the studio as numbered fine art prints, which I consider the true completion of an image.

Alongside this authorial work, I photograph weddings, pregnancies and portraits. It is not a side job: it is the same eye, resting on what people hold most precious. The same demands on light, the same discretion, the same conviction that one honest image is worth more than a hundred perfect ones.
